It is permissible to give zakat to a poor infant who has no wealth and no one to provide for him, and it should be spent on the expenses of his nursing, clothing, and medical treatment. However, if there is someone who provides for his needs, it is not permissible to give zakat to him. The majority of scholars have permitted giving (expiation) to an infant.
