Can the seller refund or replace a diseased sacrificial animal after it has been slaughtered and its illness discovered?

If the sale of a slaughtered animal with a defect is based on mutual consent and reconciliation, then there is no objection to it.

However, if it is based on obligation and judicial ruling, then returning the defective animal after its slaughter is permissible in two cases: 1. If the defect (illness) was pre-existing. 2. The defect could not be known except after slaughter.

But if the defect could have been known without slaughter, or if the defect occurred after the sale, then the return is not permissible.

If the defect could not be known except by slaughter, then the return is permissible, and there is no compensation (arsh) due from the buyer.
