What is the ruling on drinking a Chinese medicinal beverage, extracted from the "Ameboshi" mushroom, that contains 1% alcohol, and does the principle "that which intoxicates in large quantities is forbidden in small quantities" apply to it?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to consume any drink or other substance containing alcohol, even if in a small proportion, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Every intoxicant is unlawful," and "That which intoxicates in large quantities, a small quantity of it is unlawful." If the extract, while containing alcohol, is added, its use is prohibited due to its impurity. However, if it is added after the alcohol has transformed into a non-intoxicating substance, then there is no harm in consuming it.
