Is my uncle eligible for Zakat, knowing that he sold most of his properties to cover his exorbitant treatment expenses, and he only has two properties left for sale, and that during his illness he held a wedding for his son that cost 15,000 Egyptian pounds and bought a luxurious apartment?

If the uncle is still wealthy with his properties, then it is not permissible to give him zakat unless he is a debtor who is entitled to it. However, if he only owns a dwelling that suits his condition, then zakat is permissible for him. But if the dwelling is luxurious, then zakat is not permissible for him; rather, he must sell it and buy a dwelling that suits him, and benefit from the remainder, according to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Charity is not permissible for a wealthy person except in five cases," and "Charity is not permissible for a wealthy person, nor for one who is strong and able-bodied."
