Is it permissible to give the monetary value of feeding thirty needy persons, instead of feeding them in kind, on behalf of my sick mother who is unable to fast?

If the mother is ill with an illness from which recovery is hoped, she should break her fast and make up the days after her recovery, based on the Almighty's saying: "But whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then [he must make up] an equal number of other days." However, if her illness is chronic and recovery is not hoped for, she should feed a poor person for each day. It is permissible to feed a group or a single individual. It is also permissible to give the monetary value of the food to the poor, either distributing it among them or giving it to a single poor person when there is a need.
