What is meant by the "laban" mentioned in the supplication of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him: "O Allah, bless it for us and increase us from it"—is it milk or fermented milk?

The hadith the questioner referred to is the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "When one of you eats food, let him say: 'O Allah, bless it for us and give us something better than it.' And when he drinks milk, let him say: 'O Allah, bless it for us and give us more of it.' For there is nothing that suffices in place of food and drink except milk."

It has been authentically reported regarding not refusing milk that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Three things are not to be refused: cushions, oil (or perfume), and milk."

Milk includes fresh milk and curdled milk.
