Does the word "laban" mentioned in the narrations about the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, refer to milk or to the yogurt (zabadi) known today?

"Labn" is a generic term for what is produced between the chyme and blood in the udder. It is applied to its various stages, such as colostrum (laba') and fresh milk (sarif). It includes milk and yogurt, and if it curdles, it becomes "ra'ib" (curdled milk).
