What should a husband do when he discovers he has a sexually transmitted disease that can only be transmitted through intercourse, knowing that he has not had any extramarital affairs and his wife was a virgin before their marriage more than two years ago? Should he confront his wife to find out the source of the illness, or should he overlook it?

A husband should not question his wife about the source of her illness, as it may imply accusing her of indecency (fahishah) and slandering her (qadhf), which is a grave sin. The fundamental principle regarding a Muslim is their innocence, so it is impermissible to harbor ill suspicions about them. The husband should turn to Allah, seeking healing, and consult specialized doctors, for every illness has a cure.
