How can one respond to a person who claims there is no evidence for the prohibition of singing and music and that the Hadiths mentioned in this regard are weak, taking into account that the questioner has no religious knowledge or experience?

The questioner has two situations:

Either he is unable to comprehend the meanings of the legal proofs and transmit them, in which case he may follow the scholars he trusts and convey their fatwas to others without argumentation or denial.

Or he is capable of understanding the proofs and the methods of preferring one over another, in which case he may discuss with those who differ from him and argue with them in the best manner, after having consulted the statements of the scholars.

Regarding musical instruments (ma'azif), it is well-known in all four imams' schools of thought that all instruments of amusement and music are forbidden, with specific exceptions such as the tambourine (duff) at weddings, and the drum of warriors, hunters, and caravans. A group of scholars has reported a consensus on the prohibition of everything else.
