Is it permissible for a woman to lie and swear by the Qur’an about something untrue, in order to conceal a mistake she committed without her husband's knowledge, for fear of divorce and the scattering of their children?
Every son of Adam errs, and the best of those who err are those who repent.
It is incumbent upon the one who has sinned and repented to conceal their sin and not inform anyone about it. They should also increase in seeking forgiveness and performing good deeds, for indeed, good deeds efface evil deeds.
If swearing falsely is the only means to avoid divorce or certain harm, and the questioner is unable to use equivocation, then there is no sin upon her in such a case.
