What is the ruling of Islamic law on a husband fondling his wife's anus without penetration or by inserting a finger into it, and fondling her vagina during menstruation with a barrier, and is a husband being aroused by his wife touching his breasts and rear considered perversion, and is intercourse permissible on the fifth day of menstruation when it has stopped and white discharge is seen, with the return of menstruation on the sixth day, and is sleeping without performing ghusl after intercourse undesirable?

1. It is preferable to avoid foreplay with the penis in the anus to prevent forbidden penetration.

2. There is no harm in inserting a finger into the anus for pleasure, as long as there is a barrier preventing direct contact with blood, based on the general meaning of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Do everything except intercourse.”

3. There appears to be no prohibition against either spouse enjoying the other in any manner, and this is not considered perversion.

4. If the bleeding stops completely and dryness or the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda') occurs, and the wife has performed ghusl (definition) (ritual bath), then intercourse is permissible. The brownish discharges that appear thereafter are not to be regarded, as they are mere discoloration (kudrah) and not considered part of menstruation.

5. It is recommended for a person in a state of janabah (definition) (major ritual impurity) to perform ablution before sleeping, as narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). However, if the person in janabah sleeps without performing ablution, there is no harm, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to do all of that.
