Is it permissible for an Indian employee residing in Dammam to perform Umrah in Ramadan and break his fast due to the hardship of travel, knowing that Umrah is a Sunnah and fasting Ramadan is an obligation?

The virtue of performing Umrah in Ramadan is established, as stated in the hadith: "Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj." It is permissible for a traveler to break their fast in Ramadan; this is a legitimate concession affirmed by the Quran, Sunnah, and scholarly consensus, as in Allah's saying: "And whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days [are to be made up]." So, whoever travels for Umrah, whether it is obligatory or supererogatory, is permitted to break their fast, and then they should make up the days they missed after Ramadan.
