Is placing the hand on the chest after the Taslim a Sunnah?

Abu Dawud narrated from Al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There are no two Muslims who meet and shake hands but they are forgiven before they separate." Linguistically, "shaking hands" (musafaha) means taking someone's hand, i.e., placing the palm of one hand against the palm of the other. Anything beyond that—such as placing the hand on the chest after shaking hands—is not part of the handshaking encouraged by Islamic law.
