Is it permissible to marry the daughter of one's grandmother's sister?

There is no religious impediment to marrying the daughter of one's direct maternal aunt or grandmother, provided there are no other prohibited relationships. The evidence for this is the Almighty's saying: {O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful for you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those whom your right hand possesses from what Allah has granted you, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts} (Al-Ahzab: 50), and His saying after mentioning the prohibited women: {And lawful for you are [all others] beyond these} (An-Nisa: 24).
