You should strive to remove whatever provokes your husband's aversion and be frank with him about it. There is no harm in not informing him about taking birth control pills for other health reasons, if he does not object to their use and if they prevent pregnancy temporarily and not permanently, especially since he is using something that prevents pregnancy.
