Is it a guarantee against Allah's plotting that a person repents from listening to music while intending to return to it?

Among the conditions for the acceptance of repentance is the firm resolve not to return to the sin. And whoever says with his tongue, "I repent," but secretly intends to return to the sin, has not offered sincere repentance. Scholars differed regarding the benefit of seeking forgiveness while persisting in disobedience. Some of them hold that it is of no avail, and may even be harmful, and that it is the state of hypocrites. The required seeking of forgiveness is that which unties the knot of persistence and firmly establishes its meaning in the heart, not merely uttering it with the tongue. Whoever seeks forgiveness while intending to return to the sin, that is mockery. As for one who returns to the sin, though not intending to return, but fears his own weakness, then repents and seeks forgiveness, he is deserving of mercy and forgiveness and is not described as persistent. Feeling secure from Allah's plot occurs by indulging in sins while relying on mercy, or by being negligent regarding Allah's command and not fearing His punishment.
