Does listening to stories and tales of jinn and delving deeply into knowledge of their lives cause harm from them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

There is nothing to confirm that harm occurs from jinn merely by reading or hearing their stories and accounts. However, young people are advised to dedicate themselves to studying Islamic law, the stories of the Prophets, and the righteous predecessors, so that the Ummah may know the command of its Lord and properly follow its role models. Young people should not preoccupy themselves with increasing their knowledge in these matters while much of the Ummah is ignorant of its religion and the jurisprudence of its acts of worship and dealings. For Allah raises those who have believed and those who have been given knowledge in degrees, and whoever Allah wishes good for, He grants him understanding in religion.
