Is the father held accountable before God for his son's deviation into sexual perversion, and is it permissible for him to sever ties with him, or is that considered a severing of kinship ties?

Parents are obligated to raise their children upon religion and good character, and to keep them away from causes of corruption. If parents fall short in upbringing, they are held accountable. However, if they fulfill their duties, they are not questioned about a child's deviation, because guidance to success is in the hands of Allah.

The general rule is the obligation to maintain ties with children and the prohibition of cutting them off for more than three days, unless there is a benefit in disciplining and reforming them. In such a case, ostracism (hijr) is permissible. Both ostracism and maintaining ties are subject to the desired benefit. It is generally the case that maintaining ties and showing kindness, along with enjoining good, forbidding evil, and striving for reform, are more preferable and beneficial than ostracism.

It is obligatory to strive diligently in reforming the child, to not despair, and to persist in supplicating for their guidance. It is advised to strive to reside in Muslim countries due to the protection it offers for religion and morals.
