What is the ruling of the religion regarding a son's hatred for his father who has harmed him, leading him to cut off communication and avoid seeing him, out of fear of violating Islamic law and neglecting rights?

No matter how much a father wrongs his son, his right upon him does not diminish; therefore, it is not permissible to disobey him or to treat him badly, whether in word or deed. As for the heart's dislike for him due to his injustice, there is no blame for it, but this dislike should not lead to disobedience. If the father is unjust, he should be advised gently and respectfully, or through the mediation of some righteous individuals. Honoring one's father and treating him kindly are among the greatest acts of devotion, among the most beloved deeds to Allah, and among the reasons for entering Paradise. Severing ties of kinship is one of the major sins whose punishment is hastened in this world.
