Among the reliable books recommended are: the two Sahihs [Bukhari and Muslim], and accredited tafsir (exegesis) books such as Tafsir Ibn Jarir and Tafsir Ibn Kathir, as well as the book Qasas al-Qur'an (Stories of the Quran) by Ibn Kathir, and Sahih As-Sirah (Authentic Biography of the Prophet) by Dr. Akram Diya Al-Umari. It is not permissible to portray prophets or companions due to the degradation of their status inherent in such portrayals.
