Is it permissible to portray the personalities of the Prophet, the Companions, and the Rightly Guided Caliphs in a 3D animated film depicting their سيرتهم (biography/life story) and intended for Western audiences?

It is not permissible to portray the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his noble companions in films, as this diminishes their status and shows a lack of respect for them. The preponderant opinion is that it is forbidden to portray any of them due to the obligation of revering and respecting them. The religion can be served and the history of Islam highlighted without committing a Shariah violation.
