Is it permissible to teach children the lives of the Prophets through cartoon films or films that depict the Companions, such as "The Message" and "The Lady Maryam"?

Contemporary scholars have agreed on the prohibition of depicting prophets in general, and our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in particular, because it involves disrespect and diminishes their stature. Numerous fatwas and resolutions have been issued by scholarly bodies affirming this prohibition. This includes all types of depictions, whether still, moving, animated, or otherwise.

Similarly, it is absolutely forbidden to depict the Companions, as this diminishes their awe and status. They carry the honor of companionship and jihad, and depicting them weakens the ideal image of them and may lead to distortion and misrepresentation of events. The claim that there is a benefit in depicting them is merely an assumption, and the harms resulting from it outweigh any potential benefits. Therefore, it must be prevented to preserve their dignity.
