Is it permissible to portray the roles of the Companions and the Rightly Guided Caliphs and have them appear on screen, and is it possible for this matter to develop in the future to include the portrayal of the role of the Messenger, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him?

"Acting is Islamically forbidden if it involves any of the Prophets or the noble Companions, as has been previously clarified in earlier fatwas. Scholars and preachers must educate people and clarify what is permissible and forbidden in these matters and others. Rulers must prevent media outlets from disseminating such content and stop anyone who attempts to do so."
