First: A woman observing her (waiting period) due to her husband's death is required to remain in the house where she received the news of his death. She is not permitted to travel except for a valid excuse. What was mentioned about someone fulfilling her needs is not considered an excuse to leave the house.
Second: The woman observing iddah is obligated to observe ihdad (mourning), which includes abstaining from adornments and jewelry. If she is unable to remove her jewelry, there is no harm in that, but she must conceal it and not display it.
