Why does the tribulation of the questioner, who has been unable to move since birth and whose illness is worsening, seem greater than the tribulation of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, who was imprisoned and tortured for four years, despite her belief that the Imam is more virtuous than her in the sight of Allah?

Calamity encompasses all its forms, whether prosperity or adversity, illness or poverty, wars, tribulations, and unrest, or an abundance of sects, innovations, and desires. It is not limited to one type. This is what Imam Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, was afflicted with: imprisonment, beating, humiliation, and attempts to force him into accepting the words of the people of misguidance. Indeed, tribulation concerning one's religion is more severe and greater. Through tribulation, Allah may elevate ranks and expiate sins. Therefore, the servant must think well of his Lord, rely on Him, and be content with His decree, knowing that the reward of the patient will be fully given without reckoning.
