How can a married man, who seeks other women and faces rejection from his second or third wife due to his addiction, get rid of this addiction?
A person infatuated with women has two situations:
1. Engaging in what is unlawful (haram): This is forbidden, and its abhorrence is clear.
2. Legitimate marriage (polygyny): This is permissible, provided there is justice. However, one should be cautious about indulging excessively in desires, for the temptation of women is great. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I have not left behind me a trial more harmful to men than women." Excessive engagement in what is permissible may lead to falling into what is disliked (makruh) or forbidden (haram). Furthermore, preoccupation with desires hinders one from attending to the interests of religion and worldly life.
To overcome this, one must engage in what benefits them in religious and worldly matters, reflect on the purpose of human creation, and remember that worldly desires are fleeting, and complete pleasure is found in Paradise through obedience and diligence.
