Is the inability to take revenge considered forgiveness, and is it permissible to supplicate against the oppressor?

The questioner's pursuit of revenge contradicts the forgiveness he mentioned, and therefore he is not forgiving and will not receive the reward for forgiveness. His supplication against the person is permissible to the extent of the injustice he suffered, but it is better to pardon him and refrain from retaliating or supplicating against him, and to seek reward for this from Allah Almighty, for the reward of forgiveness and pardoning is great. Allah Almighty says: "But whoever patiently endures and forgives—indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] firm resolve."
