Is it permissible for a young man to ask a girl he wishes to marry to wait for him two years to complete his studies in order to improve his situation? And is it permissible for the girl to refuse marriage to someone she does not desire if she is waiting for this young man? And which is better, according to Sharia, marriage or completing studies in this case?

Marriage is recommended for whoever desires it and is able to undertake it. The questioner should not delay marriage under the pretext of improving their financial situation, for Allah the Almighty says: (If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty). And the girl has the right to wait for the one she loves as long as she is not harmed, and her guardians should not marry her to someone she dislikes.
