Will blackness be etched upon the heart of the repentant person after repeated instances of approaching fornication without completing the act? Will he be punished for it in this world, or will someone have a right against him on the Day of Judgment, knowing that he was not married, and has since repented and married, and hopes to be included in Allah’s saying: "Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds – for them Allah will change their sins into good deeds. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful"?

Adultery is one of the grave sins, but Allah accepts the sincere repentance of the adulterer and replaces his evil deeds with good ones, for Allah Almighty says: ﴿Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."﴾ Repentance involves abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. Sincere repentance erases the effect of the sin, for one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. It is not a condition for the validity of repentance to seek permission from the husband or guardian, and it is incumbent upon the adulterer to conceal himself.
