There is no error in performing concerning the matter of divorce; rather, it is the correct action when one contemplates it. Divorce did not occur by your utterance of it during Istikhara because you did not initiate it. Rather, you mentioned the word "divorce" as an expression of the matter about which you are seeking guidance from Allah, and divorce does not occur through mere expression.
