What is the ruling on madhy, wady, and maniy, according to the Maliki school of thought?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Maliki school of thought considers semen (mani), pre-seminal fluid (madhy), and prostatic fluid (wady) to be impure (najis). It is stated in Al-Sharh al-Kabeer by al-Dardir al-Maliki: "(And) among the impure substances are (semen, pre-seminal fluid, and prostatic fluid), even if they come from an animal permissible to eat, due to their repulsiveness, their transformation into a state of corruption, and because their origin is blood."

This ruling is the same for madhy and wady among other schools of thought; the Ummah has unanimously agreed on the impurity of madhy and wady. As for semen (mani), the preponderant opinion according to us is that it is pure.
