Is the name "Dana" permissible or forbidden?

If the name "Dana" (written as دانة or دانا) means "pearl" in colloquial Arabic, then there is no objection to naming with it. However, if it is one of the foreign names whose meaning is not clear in classical Arabic, then it should not be used, for fear that it might contain a meaning that contradicts religion and morals.
