1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, taught us matters for healing and alleviation, among them: reciting Al-Fatiha as a ruqyah (incantation), and the narrated supplication: "Remove the suffering, O Lord of mankind, and heal, for You are the Healer," and blowing with the 'Mu'awwidhat' (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas), and placing the hand on the site of pain and saying "Bismillah (in the name of Allah)" three times, then "A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir (I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil of what I find and fear)" seven times, and the ruqyah of Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him, with "Bismillah arqika, min kulli shay'in yu'dhika (In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you, from everything that harms you...)", and saying "Rabbunallahu alladhi fis-sama' (Our Lord is Allah, Who is in the heaven...)", and saying "As'alullah al-Adhim Rabbal-Arshil-Adhim an yashfiyak (I ask Allah, the Almighty, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to cure you)" seven times when visiting the sick. It is recommended to wipe with the hand and blow lightly on the sick person, with sincerity to Allah and truthful supplication and humble pleading to Him.
