Are you sinful for letting cats die of starvation after moving them to the roof, even though food and water are available to them?

"What you did, showing kindness to cats by providing them with food and drink, is a praiseworthy act in Islamic law for which you will be rewarded. As stated in the Hadith: 'For every wet liver (living creature), there is a reward.' There is no blame on you for any illness they contracted or their refusal to eat. Perhaps it would be better not to confine them to the house and allow them to roam freely and eat from what the earth provides."
