How can marriage be an act of worship in all its stages, from desire and choice to consummation and marital life?

Marriage is religiously recommended and carries a meaning of worship. It is better than devoting oneself to supererogatory acts of worship. For a servant to be rewarded for marriage, they must sincerely intend it for Allah Almighty and seek His pleasure. Intention transforms permissible acts into worship for which one is rewarded. This includes marriage with the intention of safeguarding one's chastity and seeking righteous offspring, adhering to the Sharia's guidelines in selection and treatment, obeying the husband in what is right, and avoiding disobedience.
