The answer

Marriage helps a servant achieve righteousness and obedience, because it restrains the soul from desires and aids in chastity and lowering the gaze, and prophetic traditions indicate this. However, it is not permissible to delay repentance and righteousness for the sake of marriage. A Muslim should hasten to repent and seek help through supplication, good companionship, reading books of encouragement and deterrence, and increasing the remembrance of Allah. Furthermore, sins cause deprivation, while acts of obedience lead to the fulfillment of desires. Therefore, obedience to Allah is the means to achieve aspirations and gain Allah's pleasure.
