Should one give up time dedicated to worship and seek another job to increase income in order to facilitate marriage and cease committing sins, or should one be patient until finding a wife who shares the same reliance on Allah for sustenance?

The best way for a servant to draw closer to his Lord is by performing the obligatory duties. He should prioritize seeking marriage if he needs it or fears falling into the unlawful, because it is a good deed that should be hastened to. Striving to earn lawful provisions is Islamically مطلوب (required) and does not contradict the remembrance and worship of Allah. Earning lawful sustenance is considered a struggle (jihad). So, if you have performed the obligatory duties, your priority should be to strive for what will keep you chaste, and that is an act of worship if your intention is sound and you aim to guard yourself from the unlawful.
