What is the ruling on working in a gambling hall (casino) in its various capacities, taking into consideration economic circumstances and high salaries?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to work in gambling halls, as this involves aiding and consenting to sin. Alcohol and gambling (maysir) have been forbidden in Islam, and anything that leads to the unlawful is itself unlawful. A Muslim must distance himself from places of sin. If he is compelled to be present in such a place, he must denounce the wrongdoing; if he is unable to do so, he must leave the place. A Muslim should not sit in a gathering where the verses of Allah are disbelieved in or mocked. Remaining in such places contradicts the principle of changing evil and abandoning places of wrongdoing. Furthermore, working in these places exposes one's faith to weakness and may lead to committing sin. This prohibition is even more stringent for women, to preserve their faith and honor.
