What is the ruling on one who frightens and terrorizes his brother until death, while knowing the bad effect of his action and the aversion of the one being harmed to it?

Terrifying a Muslim is strictly forbidden, to the extent that some scholars have considered it a major sin. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited this, saying: "Whoever points a piece of iron at his brother, the angels curse him until he puts it down, even if he is his full brother." And his saying: "It is not permissible for a Muslim to terrify a Muslim." And his saying: "None of you should take his brother's stick, whether in jest or in seriousness. Whoever takes his brother's stick, let him return it to him." All of this emphasizes the sanctity of a Muslim and the strict prohibition against terrifying or frightening him.
