Is the interpretation of "Then We raised you up after your death" as referring to a proliferation of offspring correct?

The interpretation of the noble verse: "Then We raised you up after your death" (Al-Baqarah: 56) is the revival of the Children of Israel after their actual death by the thunderbolt mentioned in the preceding verse. This is the view of the majority. It is narrated from Qatadah that they died and then Allah revived them to complete the remainder of their lifespans. The word "raising up" (بعث) here means revival after death. There is a weak opinion that they did not die, and they used as evidence the verse: "And Moses fell down unconscious" (Al-A'raf: 143). However, this opinion is weak because Allah differentiated between the two instances, mentioning recovery for the unconscious person and resurrection for the dead.
