Was Jesus, peace be upon him, raised to heaven twice: once after which he returned to Earth to comfort his mother and inform the Jews, and then a second time?

Allah Almighty mentioned that Jesus, peace be upon him, was raised to the heavens, and it was not mentioned that he was returned to Earth. It is incumbent upon anyone who claims his return to provide evidence.

Allah Almighty said: "When Allah said, 'O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.'"

The interpretation of "take you" here means raising you or putting you to sleep, not death.

The raising of Jesus was a response to the Jews who claimed to have killed him, as Allah Almighty said: "And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [rather] the resemblance of Jesus was put over another man... Rather, Allah raised him to Himself."

Jesus, peace be upon him, has not died yet, and he will descend at the end of time to rule the Earth with Islam, then he will die, and the Muslims will pray over him.

As for the saying of Allah Almighty: "and purify you from those who disbelieve," its meaning is his raising to the heavens, and His saying: "and make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection" has come to pass, as his followers dispersed after he was raised, and they remained dominant over the Jews, until Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, came, and those who believed in him became the followers of every prophet on Earth.
