What is the purity considered legally binding (shar'an), and is it by the discharge of a transparent or cloudy white fluid, and is it required to be viscous or watery?
A woman's purity (ṭahara) is achieved by one of two things: dryness (jufūf) or the white discharge (al-qaṣṣah al-bayḍāʾ). So, whoever sees the white discharge should perform ghusl (ritual bath) upon seeing it. If she does not see it, she should perform ghusl when she observes dryness, which is the dryness of the cloth after inserting it. As for what comes out after urination, it is al-wadi (post-urination discharge) and has no relation to the white discharge or purity. The white discharge is pure, plain white, not mixed with blood. It does not refer to transparent whiteness, but rather to a whiteness like that of gypsum. If it is cloudy with blood, it is not a sign of purity. If the bleeding stops and you do not see the white discharge on the usual day, you are not obliged to wait for it, because purity is also achieved by dryness. However, it is recommended to wait until the end of the preferred time for prayer.
