Will some of my good deeds be taken for listening to backbiting, making me one of the bankrupt?

It is incumbent upon the one in whose presence backbiting occurs not to sit with those who backbite, and to advise and forbid them gently and wisely, and to try to change the subject. If she dislikes it in her heart or does not approve of the backbiting and leaves the gathering, she is absolved of sin, and the backbiter will not take any of her good deeds, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever dislikes it has been absolved, and whoever denounces it has been saved, but whoever approves and follows along [is not absolved]."
