How can a divorced woman, living in a foreign country with two children, stop engaging in private relations despite not finding happiness in them, and finding it difficult to restrain herself, especially since her ex-husband refuses to finalize her divorce after two years of separation?

The reason is distance from Allah. To rectify this, one must offer sincere repentance, sever forbidden relationships, obey Allah's commands, abstain from His prohibitions, and strive in His path, as Allah Almighty says: "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good." (Quran 29:69). Maintain prayer, for it restrains from indecency and evil, as Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing." (Quran 29:45). Seek righteous company and avoid bad companions, for Allah Almighty says: "And keep yourself patiently with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life. And do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect." (Quran 18:28). As for the husband, if a divorce has occurred, he has no claim over you. If a divorce has not occurred, we advise you to return to him and mend what is between you with overlooking faults and forgiveness, for the benefit of the children and to unite the family.
