What is the expiation for not completing the Ramadan fast due to ignorance of its commencement, then intentionally breaking the fast after becoming aware of it?

A Muslim must take care of their religion, and it is a grave error to overlook the advent of Ramadan. One must make up the days that passed from Ramadan before knowing of its advent, and repent to Allah and make up the days that were not fasted after knowing of Ramadan's advent. Scholars have differed regarding the necessity of expiation (kaffarah); some believe it is obligatory for intentionally forsaking the fast, while others restrict it to sexual intercourse, and yet others restrict it to breaking the fast through sexual intercourse. It is better to offer expiation for each day during which intercourse occurred. If one delays making up the fast despite being able to, until the next Ramadan begins, then the expiation for delay becomes obligatory, which is 750 grams of the staple food of the land for each day.
