Is it permissible to break off an engagement after two years due to seeing the fiancé in a bad dream after performing Istikhara?

A Muslim relies in his judgments on intellect, wisdom, and the causes that Allah has commanded to observe, and not on visions, dreams, and sleep-visions, because they are not regulated and may be tainted by doubt, and Satan may have a share in them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified the qualities by which a suitor should be judged, which are character and religiosity. Seeing the suitor in a dream contrary to his reality does not harm him. Moreover, Istikhara is not linked to a dream vision; rather, it is a supplication to facilitate the better of two matters. Therefore, the questioner must apply religion and intellect in the matter of her suitor and not seek to ruin her marital relationship based on a mere vision.
