Do dream visions indicate the obligation to separate from a girl after a two-year relationship, with the possibility of agreeing on a future engagement, or are they merely confused dreams?

The questioner is congratulated for his repentance and abandonment of sins. It is mentioned that severing ties with the girl was the right thing to do, as such relationships are forbidden in Sharia. As for Istikhara (guidance prayer), it is recommended for permissible matters, and after performing it, one should proceed with the matter without paying attention to dreams or visions. Since the questioner is currently unable to marry, there is no need for Istikhara. Instead, he must completely sever the relationship, strive against his soul to cut off attachment to the girl, and busy himself with matters of religion and worldly life. If marriage becomes possible later and the girl is religious, she can be proposed to after performing Istikhara and consulting with family. Otherwise, he should choose another religious woman. He is reminded that good lies in what Allah تعالى has chosen, as evidenced by the verse: "And perhaps you dislike a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not."
