If a fasting person tastes blood in their throat, it does not harm their fast even if they swallow it. However, if the blood exits to the mouth and then they swallow it, their fast is broken.

This ruling also applies to phlegm and mucus and anything else that appears in the throat. Phlegm or mucus does not break the fast unless it reaches the mouth and then is swallowed. But if it remains in the throat and descends into the stomach, it does not break the fast.
