The death penalty (execution) is established for an individual in the following cases: the apostate, the married fornicator (adulterer), the intentional killer (as retaliation/qisas), the highway robber (muharib), and the spy. In addition to these, there are the one who abandons prayer, the sorcerer, and the zindiq (heretic/crypto-disbeliever).
