Contemporary scholars differ on the ruling concerning hanging Qur’anic verses on walls. Some, like Sheikh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him), permit it if the intention is for remembrance, admonition, and benefit, and not for using them as amulets. Others, like Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him), forbid it.
As for old papers containing Qur’anic verses, one should refer to specialized fatwas regarding them.
